The True Prince

The retirement of Sourav Ganguly marked the begining of end for the golden Era of Indian cricket.

Sourav Ganguly made his debut as a raw commodity in the year 1992 with out much success. A stinct with the National side that ended even before i got started. But Sourav didnt lose his heart. He went back to the domestic circuit had four glorious domestic season. He bursted into the International scene againg in 1996 with two test centuries in two games . The world started taking notice of him. He already showed signs of the fighter he was in the years that followed. A series of strong performance saw him rise in the ranks of the Indian side. A terrific Austrialian series in 1999 and series of poor performance by the Little Master as Captain handed over the reigns of the Indian cricket to him. Truely that was the begining of the golden era of Indian cricket. He lead the Indian side from death to win a series against Australia. The world cup Finalist, series victories abroad were few of his highlights as a captain. One must also not forget the fact that he has almost 20000 international runs and 150 international wickets. Again Ganguly went through a rough period in the year 2006 when he was dropped from the side after the spat with the then coach Greg Chappel. After about 10 months in hibernation Ganguly for the second time in his career fought back into the indian side. He had two prolific years in International cricket scoring runs at will. Now he is in the twilight of his career. 3 more games remain. Lets hope our very own Dada , The captain who changed the face of Indian Cricket finishes on a high Note.

A tribute To Our one and only Sourav Ganguly
